Spring Cleaning Checklist

  1. Clean Baseboards

Baseboards can be easily cleaned with a vacuum with a bristled brush hose attachment to remove any dust; then, wipe them down with a damp microfiber cloth and all-purpose cleaner.

  1. Dust

When dusting, work from the top of a room down, vacuuming the dust that settles on the floor. This includes hard-to-reach places, such as the tops of ceiling fans and window casings.

  1. Vacuum

Ensure you are reaching under tight spots like dressers, sofas, and corners. Dust and allergens tend to build up in those locations.

  1. Mop

Although mopping is considered a daily chore, it’s still important to sanitize the surfaces especially after the winter months.

  1. Shampoo Rugs

Remove trapped dirt and debris nestled between the fabrics.

6.Wipe Walls and Ceilings

Tackle stubborn surface grime, especially prevalent in kitchens, with a solvent-free degreaser. We prefer natural cleaner solutions to tackle this task.

7. Reseal Grout Lines

The material between tiles is extremely porous and stains easily. Consider re-applying seal to protect the surface.

8. Clean Upholstered Furnishings

Take this time to remove covers or vacuum and steam clean between cracks, while re-setting your living space with spring décor.

9. Wash Window Screens

Window screens tend to accumulate dirt and dust over time, so ensure they’re kept clean by using warm water mixed with a mild dish detergent and scrubbing each screen with a brush. Then, make sure to rinse them off thoroughly with water once finished.

10. Wax Surfaces

Clean wooden surfaces with a soft cloth and a mixture of water and mild dish soap. Spread the paste wax onto the wood in small sections using a cotton rag. Let the wax sit until it dries, then buff it with a fresh cloth. Stone and tile floors can be polished with either a paste or liquid wax designed for that material.
